The University of Hohenheim mourns the loss of its President

Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert

(born 23 June 1958, deceased 1 October 2024)

As an exceptional university president, Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert guided the fate of the University of Hohenheim from 2012 until his sudden death on 1 October 2024.. During his time in office, Prof. Dr. Dabbert was voted Baden-Württemberg’s most popular university president seven times. In 2016, he even received the title of nationwide University President of the Year.

The sudden loss of Prof. Dr. Dabbert profoundly saddens us and leaves a deep wound. In Prof. Dr. Dabbert, the University of Hohenheim has lost an intelligent, empathetic, and highly esteemed person as well as an inspiring and motivating leader who made a significant contribution to keeping the University of Hohenheim on course for success step by step.

We will always honor the memory of Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert.

Memorial service and condolence book

The University of Hohenheim bid farewell to Prof. Dr. Dabbert with a public memorial service on Friday, 8 November 2024 in the Audimax. The digital book of condolences was closed two weeks later.
