“The University has a long tradition of research collaborations in Africa. In addition to the Hans Ruthenberg Institute with its ten chairs in agricultural science in the tropics, there is a wide range of involvement by Hohenheim scientists.”

Prof. Dr. Mizeck Chagunda, Research Network Africa

Africa is rich in natural resources but faces major challenges such as the consequences of climate change and related extreme weather events.

The African population is expected to double within the next 30 years. Together with local partners, the research network aims to gain insights and develop models that can make a decisive contribution to overcoming these problems.

Based on its long-standing research contacts with African research institutions, the Africa Research Network aims to gain knowledge and develop models with local partners that can make a decisive contribution to overcoming these problems.

The University's researchers are involved in many projects and scholarships in African countries. You can find an overview on the Africa Network page.
