Re-registration

In order to continue with your studies in the next semester, you have to re-register. You request re-registration by paying the semester fee. On HohCampus you will find the semester fee for the corresponding semester.

If you are studying two degree programs at the University of Hohenheim at the same time, you only have to pay the semester fee once per semester.

Once your re-registration is complete, you can extend the validity period of your student identity card at the validation machines.

When is the registration deadline?

Summer semester:15 February
Winter semester:15 August

This means that your semester contribution must have been received at the University of Hohenheim’s account by 15 February (for the following summer semester) or 15 August (for the following winter semester).

Late registrations (fees received starting on 16 Feb or 16 Aug) will be charged a service fee of €20.

Please also check over your contact details in HohCampus and, if necessary, update them so that we can easily contact you.

How to pay the student fee

You must transfer the semester fee - totaling € 186.70 per semester for the winter semester 2024/25.

The purpose, bank account information, and current status of your payment can be viewed on HohCampus under “Studienservice > Zahlungen” (Study service > Payments). Please make sure you include the purpose as otherwise there are delays in booking your fees.

Please also check on HohCampus whether your account has a credit balance. If so, please transfer only the difference (as indicated in HohCampus).

Plan on it to take around one week for the University Cashier's Office to receive your fees. Make sure you transfer the semester fee in time! After that, you are re-registered and can view your certificates of enrollment.

Completing the degree

If you have completed all the coursework and examinations required for successful graduation in the current semester and have handed in your thesis and presented or defended it (if required), you no longer need to re-register for the following semester, even if the Examinations Office has not yet booked your graduation and/or you have not yet received your graduation documents. The reason for exmatriculation is then given as "Lack of re-registration/health insurance". It cannot be changed retroactively, unless the Examinations Office records that you concluded your degree in the current semester after all.

However, you have the option to re-register if you wish. However, if the Examinations Office then registers your degree in the current semester after all, the re-registration will be cancelled and you will be exmatriculated at the end of the semester.

Students in the cooperative degree programs Bachelor of Food Chemistry and Bachelor of Business Information Systems

Students in the Bachelor's degree programs in Food Chemistry and Information Systems who are also enrolled at the University of Stuttgart do not have to re-register at the University of Hohenheim and do not have to pay a semester fee to the University of Hohenheim. They re-register at the University of Stuttgart and the re-registration will then automatically be carried out at the University of Hohenheim as well.
