Department of Business Start-Ups and Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship focuses on recognizing opportunities for entrepreneurial actions and the resulting actual actions, that is, discovering and exploiting these kinds of opportunities when establishing a completely new organization. The work of the Department of Business Start-Ups and Entrepreneurship takes this into account. We aim to make entrepreneurial thinking a matter of course for students of the University of Hohenheim and enrich the international academic discussion with interesting research findings. more

HOMA! - Hohenheim macht!

“HOMA! - Hohenheim macht!” provides a valuable channel for the creativity and drive of the University of Hohenheim students, enabling them to experience independence and self-responsibility. Since the endowed chair for Entrepreneurship (SEH) was established in 2002 and the successful transfer of the SEH into the Department of Business Start-Ups and Entrepreneurship led by Prof. Andreas Kuckertz, the University of Hohenheim has been successfully working on building up a culture of entrepreneurship across the University. Existing activities are to be sustainably strengthened and expanded with the project HOMA!. HOMA! is supported by all three Hohenheim faculties. more

Project Female Entrepreneurs

As part of the state project CoMenT, the University of Hohenheim was successful with its “Consortium Project to Promote Women’s Careers Moving from the University to Their Own Company”. The consortium project is being funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts (MWK) Baden-Württemberg with money from the European Social Fund. The grant will be awarded for the period between 1 May 2017 until 30 April 2021. more

BMBF Project: “China Competence in Hohenheim” (CHIKOH)

With the project CHIKOH, the University of Hohenheim is pursuing the global objective of developing more capacity for action in scientific and economic exchange relations with China. CHIKOH aims to add value by promoting increased knowledge and skills by creating a range of options for networking and exchange among people and organizations. CHIKOH combines various measures including measures to convey knowledge to students, early career researchers, and experienced scientists; networking and structural development measures with partner institutions in China; and knowledge transfer and networking with regional businesses. more

BMBF Project: Humboldt reloaded

Getting students interested in science from the beginning: The University of Hohenheim’s award-winning project “Humboldt reloaded” makes this possible by research-focused learning starting in the basic study period. Students work on research questions in small teams with excellent supervision. With activating methods of working and teaching, lecturers thereby promote interdisciplinary creative competence and capacity to act in addition to purely conveying knowledge. more
