Topic: The seminar introduces the participants to nature-based solutions for developing projects and strategies in urban areas. Through the analysis of case studies, they will learn to identify challenges and opportunities in different areas around the world, recognize the importance of a sound urban sustainability strategy, and develop capacity for the development of urban nature-based solutions.
Who: The workshop targets primarily DAAD students and graduates of development programs in Germany who would like to develop and improve their skills in participatory approaches and sustainable development. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject and/or professional experience. English proficiency is required.
When: 24 November – 15 December 2021.
The participants will need to dedicate a total of four hours and a half per week, two committed to asynchronous work in the digital platform and the other two to participate in the virtual calls that will take place on Wednesday afternoons. During these calls, the participants will have a chance to meet with experts in the topics, discuss some of the material received during the week, and develop different activities to encourage the network within the participants. A certificate of participation will be provided upon completion of the course.
