Im Rahmen des DAAD-Programms PROMOS vergibt die Universität Hohenheim Stipendien für Auslandsaufenthalte an Studierende im ersten Halbjahr 2023 / As part of the DAAD PROMOS program, the University of Hohenheim awards scholarships to students for stays abroad in the first half-year 2023- for English version see below –
Zielgruppe:
Es können sich regulär eingeschriebene Studierende (Bachelor, Master) der Universität Hohenheim bewerben, die im ersten Halbjahr 2023 einen Auslandsaufenthalt für Studium (mind. 1 Monat), Forschung (mind. 1 Monat) oder Praktikum (mind. 6 Wochen) außerhalb Europas planen.
BITTE BEACHTEN: Ausgeschlossen von einer Förderung sind Aufenthalte in Erasmus+ Programmländern sowie Aufenthalte im Heimatland. Als Heimatland gilt hier das Land, in dem sich die Bewerber:innen in den letzten 5 Jahren überwiegend aufgehalten haben.
Leistung:
Die Förderung erfolgt für maximal 6 Monate über die Zahlung von länderabhängigen Fahrtkostenzuschüssen und monatlichen Teilstipendienraten für Studien- und Forschungsaufenthalte. Praktika werden mit Fahrtkostenzuschüssen gefördert.
BITTE BEACHTEN: Eine wiederholte Förderung ist möglich, jedoch können maximal 6 Monate Teilnahme am Programm pro Studienabschnitt (Bachelor/Master) gefördert werden.

Die Bewerbung erfolgt ausschließlich online über das Bewerbungsportal "Mobility-Online" des Akademischen Auslandsamts.
- Austauschstudierende: Sie erhalten den Link zum Bewerbungsformular am 16.11.2022 automatisch per E-Mail.
- Free Mover: Bitte registrieren Sie sich zuerst in Mobility Online. Den Link zur Bewerbung finden Sie ab 16.11.2022 in Ihrem Free Mover-Account.
BITTE BEACHTEN: Die Registrierung für Free Mover ist ab sofort bis zum Bewerbungsschluss möglich. Wir raten Ihnen jedoch dringend, bei der Registrierung genügend Zeit für die Bewerbung einzuplanen!

- Teil I: fachbezogene Kurzbeschreibung Ihres Vorhabens und (akademische) Ziele während des Auslandsaufenthaltes (max. 2.000 Zeichen inkl. Leerzeichen)
- Teil II: persönliche Motivation für den Auslandsaufenthalt, welchen persönlichen und gesellschaftlichen Mehrwert versprechen Sie sich durch den Auslandsaufenthalt und das Stipendium (max. 2.000 Zeichen inkl. Leerzeichen).
- tabellarischer Lebenslauf (PDF-Upload): max. 2 Seiten, beinhaltet Ihren akademischen und fachlichen Werdegang sowie weitere relevante Informationen
- Aktueller Notenspiegel (PDF-Upload): in Englisch, herunterladbar über HohCampus
- Bachelorzeugnis (PDF-Upload): nur für Master-Studierende erforderlich
- Empfehlungsschreiben (PDF-Upload): nur für Forschungsaufenthalte im Ausland erforderlich; das Empfehlungsschreiben muss von Ihrem Betreuer/Ihrer Betreuerin des Forschungsprojekts an der Universität Hohenheim ausgestellt werden. Ein Empfehlungsschreiben soll neben Ihren Studienleistungen vor allem Auskunft über Ihre akademischen Fähigkeiten und Ihre Persönlichkeit geben.

Bewerbungsfrist:
Bewerbungsschluss für alle Vorhaben im ersten Halbjahr 2023 ist der 30.11.2022, 12 Uhr mittags (MESZ).
Auswahl- und Vergabekriterien:
Die Auswahl der Geförderten erfolgt durch eine Senatskommission schwerpunktmäßig anhand der akademischen Leistungen. Auch die akademische Begründung des geplanten Aufenthaltes, sowie ehrenamtliches Engagement werden bei der Auswahl berücksichtigt.
Die Kommission behält sich vor, die Förderdauer zu begrenzen.
Für alle Vorhaben im Zusammenhang mit den Schwerpunktbereichen „Bioökonomie“, „Globale Ernährungssicherung und Ökosysteme“ sowie „Gesundheitswissenschaften“ der Universität Hohenheim gilt, dass diese in besonderem Maße berücksichtigt werden.
Aktueller Hinweis: PROMOS-Stipendien für Präsenzaufenthalte können nur gewährt werden, wenn während des Förderzeitraumes keine Reisewarnung des Auswärtigen Amtes für das Gastland bzw. die betreffende Region besteht.
Bestehen Reisebeschränkungen für Ihr Zielland, besteht unter bestimmten Bedingungen jedoch eventuell die Möglichkeit, die Fördermaßnahmen Studienaufenthalte und Praktika von Deutschland aus online zu beginnen. Wenn Sie dies planen, legen Sie in Ihrer Motivation zusätzlich dar, wie Sie dadurch Ihre Studien-/Aufenthaltsziele (trotzdem) erreichen können.
Kosten, die durch einen Rücktritt bzw. Abbruch des Auslandsaufenthalts entstehen, können nicht übernommen werden.
Bitte beachten Sie: Alle Regelungen stehen grundsätzlich unter Vorbehalt. Eine vorzeitige Änderung oder Beendigung dieser Regeln ist möglich, wenn sich die Situation entsprechend ändert.

Target group:
Qualified to apply are regularly enrolled students (Bachelor, Master) of the University of Hohenheim who plan a stay abroad outside of Europe for studying (at least 1 month), a research project (at least 1 month) or an internship (at least 6 weeks) in the first half year of 2023.
PLEASE NOTE: Stays in Erasmus+ program countries and stays in the home country are excluded from funding. The home country is defined as the country in which the applicant has spent the majority of the last 5 years.
Benefits:
The funding is granted for a maximum of 6 months via the payment of a country-dependent travel allowance and a monthly subsistence lump-sum for study and research stays. Internships are subsidized with travel allowances.
PLEASE NOTE: Repeated funding is possible, the maximum period of participation in the program, however, is 6 months per study period (Bachelor/Master).
Application and Application Documents:
Applications can exclusively be submitted online via the application portal "Mobility-Online" of the Office of International Affairs.
- Exchange students: You will automatically receive the link to the application form via e-mail on 16/11/2022.
- Free Mover: Please register in Mobility Online first. You will find the link to the application in your Free Mover account from 16/11/2022.
Please note: Registration is possible from now until the application deadline. However, we strongly advise you to allow enough time for the application when registering!
All documents must be submitted in English. Necessary documents are:
- Application form (online form)
- Motivation Letter (online form):
- Part I: short subject-related description of your plans and (academic) goals during the stay abroad (max. 2.000 characters including blanks)
- Part II: personal motivation for the stay abroad, what personal and societal added value do you expect from the stay abroad and the scholarship (max. 2.000 characters including blanks).
- CV in tabulated form (PDF upload): max. 2 pages, including your academic and professional background as well as other relevant information.
- Current Transcript of Records (PDF upload): in English: downloadable from HohCampus;
- Bachelor Certificate (PDF upload): only required for master students
- Confidential Letter of Recommendation (PDF upload): only required for research stays abroad; the recommendation letter must be issued by your supervisor at the University of Hohenheim for the research project. A recommendation letter should provide information about your academic record, as well as your academic abilities and personality.

Application Deadline:
Application deadline for all mobility projects in the first half of 2023 is 30/11/2022, noon (CEST).
Selection and award criteria:
The scholarship holders will be selected by a senate commission with a focus on the academic achievements. The academic explanation of the planned stay, as well as voluntary service are also taken into account.
The Commission reserves the right to limit the funding period.
All projects, which are related to the focus areas "Bioeconomy", "Global Food Security and Ecosystems" and "Health Sciences" of the University of Hohenheim, are considered in particular for funding.
Please note:
PROMOS scholarships can only be granted for stays abroad if there is no travel warning issued by the German Foreign Office for the host country or region during the funding period.
However, if there are travel restrictions for your target country, it may be possible under certain conditions to start the sponsorship measures Study Stays and Internships online from Germany. If you plan to do this, additionally outline in your motivation how this will allow you to (still) achieve the goals of your studies/stay abroad.
Costs arising from a cancellation or an interruption of the stay abroad cannot be covered.Current notice: All regulations are generally subject to change. A premature change or termination of these rules is possible if the situation changes accordingly.
