Language Track
Language Learning@University: importance, impact, specifics
This session will give some inspiring thoughts about the importance of learning languages at university and highlight the benefits of organizing this learning process via a language center. In addition, trainers from various linguistic backgrounds will share and discuss some of their class practice specifically related to language learning at universities. The session will leave room for discussion and interaction.
Languages for Specific Target Groups
This session will give an insight into how our language programs cater for different target groups that all have their individual characteristics. Intensive linguistic and study preparation for refugees will be presented as well as our very popular German intensive courses for newly arriving exchange students. Last but not least we will share good practice from some of our emerging formats for university staff. Of course there will be room for discussion and interaction.
Mobility Track
New concepts for exchange programs
Student Mobility has undergone a significant change during the last decade: Accredited mobility has become a key spot for students, short stays abroad like summer schools and (research) internships have become more and more popular, one year abroad a rarity. In this session we would like to show and discuss how International Offices can face the challenges.
Exchange programs without papers - Mobility Database
Erasmus without Papers, Digital Data Management System, Digital Teaching Universities – universities’ administration face new policies during their everyday work. We would like to discuss with our guest what this means for International Offices, and how we can deal with it.
International Network Projects
This session will give an overview of networks the UHOH takes part in and highlights the benefits. There are advantages and challenges of networks which we would like to present and discuss with our partners.
