Bio-SuPex

This chinese-german cooperation project (Chinese Agricultural University and University of Hohenheim) aims for the development of a biorefinery concept treating abundant agricultural and municipal wastes and convert them to:

1. Energetic materials with high heating value and low ash content

2. Fertilizers or Fertilizer precursors with high phosphate and/or nitrogen content

3. Separated Oils and fats as well as platform-chemicals such as 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF)

We address the need for a more efficient bioeconomy in terms of nutrient cycles in chinese as well as in german agriculture and ensure a sustainable agricultural production. In this Concept, we are using renewable resources industry like livestock production and biogas production and lead them to a more efficient operation. By utilizing digestate we develop biomass based energy to even more energy efficient level by valorising a waste where the least bit of energy is used.
