From June 16th to July 6th, 2025, the Hohenheim Summer School,
offered by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences at the
University of Hohenheim, will take place under the theme
"Digitalization for Sustainability – Sustainable Digitalization". This
opportunity offers students from around the world insights into the
newest research on the twin transformation. Participants will be able to
develop and discuss their own thoughts on issues regarding the
transformation towards a digital and sustainable future on an
individual, organizational and societal level.
The twin transformation refers to the current trends of digitalization
and sustainability, whose interplay is complex, dynamic and potentially
ambivalent. While digitalization can support sustainability goals – such
as resource conservation and preservation – by enabling efficiency
gains and smarter resource use, it also relies on high resource
consumption and may trigger rebound effects. Individuals, organizations
and societies are targets and drivers of the twin transformation.
Therefore, investigating this transformation requires understanding not
only its internal harmonies and contradictions but also its
interconnectedness with individual, organizational and societal demands
and activities.
You can expect high quality teaching from internationally renowned
professors, working in an inspiring multicultural group, insights into
firms undergoing a twin transformation in the globally competitive
region of Stuttgart and an extensive cultural and leisure program. By
participating successfully, you will get 6ECTS and a certificate.
