Active for peace in Israel/Palestine: Talk with the Combatants for Peace on 1/18 [11.01.24]
18.1.24, 6 pm, Hohenheim Palace, Balcony Room: Osama Iliwat from Palastine and Rotem Levi from Israel report, how they overcame the different realities they grew up with to start intercultural dialog, understanding and peace building
Still and now more than ever: the Israeli/Palestinian members of "Combatants for Peace" are committed to dialog, understanding and peace between the two peoples. They were founded by activists who have mostly experienced and often perpetrated violence themselves.
At the beginning of their talk at the University of Hohenheim, Osama Iliwat (Palestinian board member of Combatants for Peace and founder of Visit Palestine) and Rotem Levi (doctor and community organizer from Israel) will share their personal stories: the different realities they grew up with and how they overcame them. In the second half of the evening, the duo will take questions from the audience.
The talk will be held in English. It is organized by the Ecumenical University Community Stuttgart-Hohenheim. The evening will be moderated by Pastor Andrea Aippersbach and members of the ÖHG.
