Declaration of Website Accessibility

The University of Hohenheim makes every effort to make its website www.uni-hohenheim.de accessible in accordance with Sec. 10(1) of the State Equal Opportunities for the Disabled Act (L-BGG).

This declaration on accessibility applies to the website of the University of Hohenheim www.uni-hohenheim.de. This includes all public and access-restricted websites, sub-pages, and subsequent pages of the domain (in future referred to as the website of the University of Hohenheim ) for which the University of Hohenheim is responsible in terms of content, appearance, and technical functions, as well as the associated pictorial, moving image, and text content.

All other external, legally, organizationally, and technically independent institutions whose websites are linked to the University of Hohenheim or refer to the University of Hohenheim are responsible for their own content in the sense of their operators and are not covered or included by this declaration.

1. Status of compatibility with the requirements

The web presence of the University of Hohenheim is partially compatible with Sec. 10(1) L-BGG due to the following incompatibilities.

2. Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a) Incompatibility with Sec. 10(1) L-BGG

  • No audio descriptors are provided for video and audio content, and subtitles are not yet available for all videos.
  • Graphic elements and images have not been fully supplemented with alternatives or alternative texts.
  • Links can be inaccessible.
  • Documents such as PDF files or Office documents are not provided in accessible versions.
  • Services in German sign language in accordance with Section 10 (1) sentence 3 L-BGG in conjunction with Section 4 BITV 2.0 and information in easy language or easy-to-read are not yet available on the University of Hohenheim website.
  • Contrast between text and background: Texts that are embedded in graphics may not always have sufficient contrast.
  • The requirement for keyboard operability is currently not fully met, as the hamburger menu cannot be operated with the keyboard in the mobile display.

b) Unreasonable burden

  • Due to the unreasonable burden (according to Sec. 10(1) L-BGG) required to implement these accessibility features, the above has not yet been implemented. The University of Hohenheim endeavors to improve this immediately.
3. Preparation of this declaration on accessibility

This declaration was created on September 26, 2024, and last revised on December 10, 2024. The revision of the declaration is based on a BITV self-assessment carried out by the University of Hohenheim.
