Pupils’ lab HoLa Science | Vocational and study orientation at high school

Pupils’ lab HoLa Science

HoLa Science is Hohenheim’s teaching and learning lab for STEM and agricultural research. We offer experimental safaris on current topics in societal discourse and place them in the research context of the university.

In the experimental safaris, the following topics are considered:

  • Agriculture of the future
  • Food production, healthy nutrition, and the “One Health” concept
  • Biodiversity and agro-ecosystem research
  • Adapting to climate change
  • Bioeconomy for resource conservation and sustainable production

The pupils’ lab is for upper-level students at Gymnasien and at younger students in various school forms. Because the content is oriented on the current curriculum and the experimental safaris can be booked individually, an excursion to our pupils’ lab can be easily integrated into the lesson plan. To awake interest in STEM topics, entire days in the pupils’ lab can be booked. In addition to the individual modules of the respective experimental safaris, the following guided tours can also be booked:

  • Campus tour
  • Guided tour of plant breeding at the Heidfeldhof Agricultural Experiment Station.
  • Tour of the Dairy for Research and Training
