A hotbed of economic scientists and academics is how “Focus“ described the Universität Hohenheim. "The top marks and our good reputation are further recognition of the Hohenheim concept of offering courses with a high level of economic content," said the Rector of the Universität Hohenheim, Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Liebig, in congratulating the economists. In view of the rising number of students and the new challenges facing business, the University is currently planning two new courses in Business Economics. The new specialist course in Health Management will start in the autumn and the ”European Innovation and Service Management“ course will start up the following year.

The success story continues. Following a top-ten placing in the ranking lists published by “Wirtschaftswoche“ and “karriere“, the Universität Hohenheim has now been ranked by “Focus“ and is again one of the front runners in Germany, in terms of research and teaching. Along with the Universities of Mannheim, Munich, Münster, Cologne, Witten, Vallendar and the Munich TU, the Universität Hohenheim is now one of Germany’s top universities in the field of Economics.

"The placing is not only praise for us but is also an impetus to motivate us move forward to expand even further," states the Dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Science, Prof. Dr. Christoph Müller. Prof. Dr. Müller cited the 2012 Expansion Programme as a specific opportunity for the state of Baden-Württemberg to react to the imminent increase in the numbers of students. In the first phase, the Universität Hohenheim is planning to create 60 new places in the new specialist “Health Management“ course from the start of the 2007/2007 winter semester. A further 60 places will be created with the new specialist ”European Innovation and Service Management“ course from the start of the 2008/2009 winter semester. "Both of these courses are innovations with which we are hoping to tackle the key challenges in business and open up new and promising job opportunities for our students", confirms Prof. Dr. Müller.
