DFG Funding atlas:
University of Hohenheim in Top Group for Research Funding  [03.09.15]

The German Research Foundation’s Funding Atlas shows the top group of universities / Göttingen and Hohenheim lead in the area of agricultural sciences

Across Germany, the University of Hohenheim is one of the top two universities with the most research funding from the German Research Foundation for the area of agricultural sciences. This was revealed by the DFG’s current funding atlas, published by the DFG this morning.

Several international rankings show the University of Hohenheim’s agricultural research as no. 1 in Germany. These include the renowned NTU Ranking by National Taiwan University, the Best Global Universities Ranking by the news magazine U.S. News & World Report, and the QS World University Ranking by the company QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

In the agricultural sciences alone, between 2011 and 2013 the University of Hohenheim received over 12 million euros for research work, which the DFG evaluated as outstanding.

What is remarkable for the University of Hohenheim is that it is in the top group in this subject area even though neither forestry science nor veterinary science are included in its research spectrum. “This demonstrates even more clearly the level of performance in agricultural sciences at our university, which is why I offer my colleagues congratulations for this achievement,” stated University of Hohenheim President Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert.
