For the First Time in Baden-Württemberg
University of Hohenheim Receives Quality Seal for Professorial Appointment Procedures [24.06.16]
29 June 16 starting at 4 p.m.: festive presentation of the seal to the University of Hohenheim by the DHV President Prof. Dr. Kempen, Hohenheim Palace, 70599 Stuttgart
It is considered the most prestigious aspect of university management: Personnel policies when filling professorships. With the appointments, universities set new focuses, re-allocate resources, and compete with one another for the best scientists. On Wednesday, the University of Hohenheim Stuttgart will be the first university in Baden-Württemberg to receive the quality seal from the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV) for fair and transparent professorial appointment negotiations.
The professors who started their service at the University of Hohenheim in younger years are not stingy with their praise: From their application until far beyond their first day of work, the University assisted them “openly and with respect,” said geneticist Prof. Dr. Martin Hasselmann, for example. “I always felt that it was important to the University to create the best possible conditions.”
The procedure in Hohenheim was “unusually quick,” agreed economic scientist Prof. Dr. Nadja Dwenger. She quickly had the information she needed to plan. And after starting, the Professorial Appointment Manager took on the role of a guide through the complex University Administration.
First University in Baden-Württemberg and One of the Ten First in the Country
Now the University of Hohenheim is getting even more praise from the German Association of University Professors and Lecturers (DHV), the professional representation of university professors and young scientists in Germany. The DHV is therefore presenting the University of Hohenheim with the “Quality Seal for Fair and Transparent Professorial Appointment Negotiations” as the first university in Baden-Württemberg.
