United Arab Emirates Start Research Project with the University of Hohenheim [20.01.16]
International research program aims to increase rain over desert region / Prof. Dr. Wulfmeyer wins the first call for applications together with two other research teams
Every three years, the United Arab Emirates now wants to invest 5 million US dollars into the question of how rain can be influenced and strengthened in the desert region. At a gala evening in the capitol Abu Dhabi, the government announced yesterday which research projects are to be implemented first. The funds were awarded to the research group headed by Prof. Dr. Volker Wulfmeyer from the University of Hohenheim (US$ 1.5 million) as well as two other teams from Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
