Information Systems at Stuttgart Universities in the Top Ten [20.04.20]
The Information Systems degree program jointly offered by the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart prepares graduates well for their professional life.
Human resource officers voted: If you are studying Information Systems at the Universities of Hohenheim and Stuttgart, you can be optimistic when you start looking for a job. In a national survey of 590 managing human resource officers, the alumni from this joint degree program are among the top ten on the popularity scale. Graduates of Information Systems, a cooperative degree program with the University of Stuttgart, are ranked 9th. The complete ranking was published on 17 April 2020.
For Wirtschaftswoche’s university ranking, every year the consulting company Universum asks human resource officers which universities and universities of applied sciences prepare students best for professional life. The survey includes both public and private universities.
The result: Graduates from the Information Systems degree program, offered jointly by the University of Hohenheim and University of Stuttgart, were in 9th place nationwide. First place in the subject Information Systems was taken by the Technische Universität München.
The subjects surveyed were industrial engineering, information systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, law, natural sciences, and economics and business administration. The respondents were able to name several universities and universities of applied sciences per subject.
BACKGROUND: Business Administration and Economics programs at the University of Hohenheim
The University of Hohenheim offers four Bachelor's, nine Master’s, and one doctorate course in "Economics" in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences.
Information Systems (www.winfohost.de) stands out due to an excellent supervision ratio between lecturers and students, modern teaching methods, and interdisciplinarity. This enables interactive and practical teaching that offers many points of intersection with the companies in the Stuttgart region. The Bachelor's program is offered by the University of Stuttgart and the Master's by the University of Hohenheim.
In Hohenheim, the Bachelor’s level economics and business degree programs include Business Administration and Economics, Information Systems (in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart), Education for Business and Economics, and Communication Science. The Master’s programs include Economics, International Business and Economics, Management, Information Systems (in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart), Education for Business and Economics, Finance (part-time), Communication Management and Analysis, and Bioeconomy (with the Faculties of Agricultural and Natural Sciences).
There are currently almost 4,800 students (winter semester 2019/2020) enrolled at the University of Hohenheim in the economics and social science courses. This means that more than half of the university's students are now studying economics and social sciences.
