In ranking by U.S. News & World Report, the University of Hohenheim remains 1st in Germany, 7th in Europe, 27th worldwide / Top position in all rankings
Germany’s Number 1 in Agricultural Research and Food and Nutritional Science: The University of Hohenheim keeps its top spot. It remains in 7th place in Europe and is 27th in the world. This is the result of the latest Best Global Universities Ranking by the US magazine U.S. News & World Report in cooperation with Clarivate Analytics InCites, making the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart the leader in all major international research rankings in the field of agricultural research in Germany. The University of Hohenheim’s food and nutritional science programs also contribute to the good result in “Agricultural Sciences.” The Best Global Universities Ranking counts their research performance within the area of Agricultural Sciences.
The Best Global Universities Ranking has been published annually since 2014. Institutions from more than 80 countries are evaluated using 13 indicators that assess academic research performance and international reputation.
With this result, the University of Hohenheim’s top position in Germany has been confirmed by all renowned international rankings in the past year:
- The current Best Global Universities Ranking 2020 places the University of Hohenheim’s agricultural research including food and nutritional science 1st in Germany, 7th in Europe, and 27th in the world. The magazine “U.S. News & World Report” bases its subject ranking on an analysis of Clarivate Analytics InCites and captures the research performance and international reputation. It was published in October 2019.
- The prestigious NTU Ranking of National Taiwan University lists the University of Hohenheim as no. 1 in Germany, no. 6 in Europe, and no. 20 in the world in the area of agricultural research and food sciences. Each year, the NTU evaluates all international scientific publications for the globally respected ranking and evaluates their number and quality. - The influential QS World University Ranking lists the University of Hohenheim’s agricultural research including food science 1st in Germany, 8th in Europe, and 15th worldwide in its subject rankings. The analysis by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, a British education provider, ranks the best universities each year primarily according to research strength and examines factors such as academic reputation, publications, and citations of individual publications. European and Global Top Universities Cooperate Closely
The University of Hohenheim is also pleased by the other universities that were with Hohenheim in the best of agricultural research. Hohenheim has recently joined forces with five European universities that are leaders in bioeconomy in the European Bioeconomy University (EBU) network. Four of the partners - the University of Wageningen in the Netherlands, AgroParis Tech in France, the University of Bologna in Italy, and the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna in Austria - are the best in their respective countries in the field of agricultural research.
The Wageningen (Netherlands) and Copenhagen (Denmark) universities are among the seven best in Europe. The University of Hohenheim has cooperated closely with these two universities for years within the Euroleague of Life Sciences. This network is made up of joint degree programs and an intensive exchange of students and instructors.
The University also has close partnerships with the top universities abroad. For example, the University of Hohenheim and China Agricultural University have cooperated for several decades.
