Pre-test for all applicants for the M.Sc. program "Crop Sciences"

Admissions regulations require that all applicants take an online pre-test. This test is meant to give you an idea of the kind of previous knowledge we expect. The result of the test is meant to show you where you might have gaps and where you should improve your knowledge in preparation for your Master's studies.

The test is compulsory for all applicants, however, the result will not influence your chances of admission! This required self-evaluation could help you figure out whether this study program is suitable for you.

We request that you complete this internet-based test within 90 minutes, without assistance from others. You are permitted to take this test only once. Please ensure you have a pocket calculator ready. At the end of the test, you must print your pretest result as a PDF document and upload it as part of your application for admission to the Crop Science program. Please note that your admission will be based solely on other verifiable and certified information provided in your application.

Completing the test

  1. Access the website for the Pre-test Crop Science
  2. You can switch to English by clicking "Sprache" (which means "language" in German) in the upper right corner.
  3. Before starting with the test, you have to register as an external user: Select “login/Anmeldung” (top right)
  4. Then press the "New Account Registration" button, which is a small link below the login fields. In the registration form, only the fields with a red star are required fields. Please make sure to enter your correct full name, otherwise your test result cannot be linked to your application.
  5. Your personal password will be sent to your email account.

After receiving your password you can login (“Login”).

  1. In the top row click on "Repository" and choose “Repository – home”
  2. Then go to “Projects F – J” Scrolling down you will find the " Pretest Crop Sciences "
  3. Then click on PRE-TEST CropSciences
  4. On the next page, you will find a short introduction giving a brief description of the test.
  5. After clicking the green button "Start the test" button, you will be presented with a list of 24 different questions.

You are free to answer the questions in the order of your choice. End the test by clicking the "Finish the test" button. After 90 minutes, the test will be terminated automatically.

Please complete the test before the application deadline and use the PDF-Printer function of your browser, to create a PDF of the test result at the end. You need this document for your application for the study program!
