What is the study aptitude test?

A study aptitude test checks skills that are particularly important for a student’s success in a degree program.

Why is the test a criterion for the Master’s in Management?

Objective tool (all applicants have the same requirements) to see whether the applicant is suitable for completing the Master's program successfully.

Why should I take an aptitude test?

With the study aptitude test (TM-WISO or GMAT), you increase your chance of getting a study place. The study aptitude test counts for 40% in the selection process.

How long is the test valid?

Both the TM-WISO and the GMAT are valid for 2 years.

What test should I need to submit if I have taken multiple tests?

You may submit the best result. It must be no more than 2 years old, but does not have to be your most recent test result.

What is the TM-WISO?

  • Standardized test in either English or German (both languages are treated equally)
  • Around 4-hour online test in a test center or at home with proctoring
  • Not possible to fail
  • Tests mathematical, logical, and linguistic-analytical skills, as well as English language comprehension

Double Master’s degree programs

Applications for the double Master’s degree program run parallel to general applications for admission. Applicants will receive notification prior to enrollment as to whether or not they have been accepted into the double Master’s degree program.

The applicant portal is open as of mid-April. You can only apply online.

Apply online now!

After all applications have been evaluated, we will let you know if you have received a study place.

Usually, admission letters are sent out starting in mid/late July. The exact timing depends primarily on the number of applications.

How to enroll at the University of Hohenheim

Yes! It is irrelevant whether you have a Bachelor's degree from a university, a university of applied sciences, or a dual university. In all these cases you can apply for the HMM.

Yes! You can apply even if you do not yet have your diploma. In this case, please include a current grade transcript with your application. If you receive a place in the program, a condition for remaining in the program is that you submit your degree certificate to the Registrar's Office by December 15. If you do not submit your certificate by then, you will lose your place at the university.

Yes, you can. However, a maximum of 58 ECTS credits may still need to be completed by the application deadline on 15 June. If you have a higher number of missing credits, you do not meet the entry requirements.

Please remember that your Bachelor's degree transcript must be submitted by 15 December of the admission year. If the Bachelor's certificate is not available by this date, you will lose your study place.

No. Each applicant has the same requirements. It is irrelevant at which college/university you studied.

You do not need to have a specific grade point average.

Applicants will be selected based on the following criteria:

  1. Overall grade of the Bachelor's degree (60%)
  2. Result of a study aptitude test (40% weighting) (TM-WISO in German or English or GMAT)

You can find details on this in the admission regulations.

If you have studied a Bachelor's program that does not only consist of economics (e.g. sports economics, business education), the admissions committee, which meets after the application deadline, will decide on the "equivalence" of the bachelor's program.

Since we cannot provide you with binding information, we ask you to refrain from making inquiries about this.

The test format and content differ. For more detailed information, please refer to the corresponding homepages. Your chances are the same with either test. However, if you do not take any test, you will not receive any points for the selection criterion study aptitude test (weighting 40%).

Depending on the choice of specialization, some courses are only offered in English. For this reason, you must have sufficient knowledge of English to be able to study.

You need English language skills at the level B2.

Knowledge of English is deemed to be fulfilled if you have taken English as a school subject in grade 11/12 or grade 12/13. But: if the subject English was dropped in the upper school levels (Oberstufe), a language test (level B2) must be taken and submitted. Any language test B2 that has been passed is recognized.

In all likelihood, admission letters will be prepared and mailed by mid/late July. However, this depends on the number of applications.
