With the exception of some Master’s programs, the language of instruction at the University of Hohenheim is German.
To apply for one of the German-language programs , you must show proof of sufficient knowledge of German unless your university entrance qualification was acquired at a German-speaking school.
Applicants must provide proof of their German language skills in the form of one of the following certificates:
- Test “Deutsch als Fremdsprache” (TestDaF), at least level TDN 4 in all four parts of the test.
- Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH), if it was passed with at least level DSH-2.
- "Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz - Stufe II" (DSD II)
- Goethe Certificate C2 (old until 01 Jan 2012: Großes or Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom or Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP) of the Goethe-Institut)
- German language exam II (Munich Language and Interpretation Institute (SDI))
- A degree in a German-language degree program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diplom)
- Recognized foreign certificates
- Please note that an IB Diploma is only recognized as proof of German language proficiency with German A as the Higher Level. Otherwise, you must submit one of the above-mentioned proofs of German.
You must provide proof that you have successfully passed one of the above tests by the application deadline. Applications for admission without a corresponding certificate will be returned!
