Day of Teaching 2022

The first Day of Teaching at the University of Hohenheim was a complete success and offered teachers and students a unique opportunity to exchange ideas about innovative teaching formats and to learn from each other. Under the motto “Let's talk about teaching,” the participants were able to actively shape the event on 2 December 2022 and contribute to its success with their own contributions.

The presentation of the teaching awards and the university didactic certificates by President Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert was a special highlight to honor the achievements of the lecturers and to express appreciation for their teaching and their commitment.

Participants then came together in impulse workshops in online or hybrid format to share ideas and gain new perspectives. A total of five impulse events with 15 lectures or workshops on various topics related to Hohenheim teaching took place.

The presentations offered a broad overview and enabled participants to broaden their horizons. In addition, the Day of Teaching also provided an insight into the Teaching 2030 strategy process. A presentation first gave the participants an insight into the strategy process and enabled them to go deeper into the discussion on the topic of “Teaching 2030.”

This was followed by a panel discussion on the topic of “Grenzenlose Flexibilität beim Lehren und Lernen - Wunschdenken oder Zukunft der Universitäten?” with Prof. Dr. Stephan Dabbert (President), Prof. Dr. Korinna Huber (Vice President for Academic Affairs), and Prof. Dr. Benjamin Jung (Dean of Studies, Faculty W). The future direction of teaching at the University of Hohenheim was discussed with all stakeholders.

The moderation by renowned science journalist Dr. Jan-Martin Wiarda contributed to a lively and interesting atmosphere. All in all, the first Day of Teaching at the University of Hohenheim was a successful start for an open dialog and an engaged exchange about the future design of teaching.
