The Master's program in Education for Business and Economics builds on the Bachelor's program in Education for Business and Economics. Two elective areas are available for selection: Company orientation or school orientation. In addition to Bachelor's graduates in Education for Business and Economics, it is also open to Diplom and Bachelor's graduates in other business and economics programs who meet the formal requirements. The successful completion of the Master's program enables, among other things, entry into the preparatory service at vocational schools in order to work as a teacher.

The standard period of study for the Master’s program is four semesters. In the Master's program, you will deepen your knowledge from a Bachelor's program in (1) economics, (2) educational science, and (3) a specialization area of your choice.
You can choose from the following specializations:

The fourth semester is typically used for the Master's thesis. Over a period of three months, you will develop a special topic that particularly matches your interests and abilities under expert supervision.
In the Master's program you will acquire in-depth specialist knowledge:
- in Business Administration and Economics
- in educational science and
- in an elective area (school-based or company-based)
Students can thus work both at vocational schools and in companies and organizations after graduation. Furthermore, the program lays the foundations for activities in academic research.
The breadth of content from economics and education as well as your profile area will open up numerous career opportunities for you.

The research foci of the chair of Education for Business and Economics can be separated into two areas. The first area includes, among others, systematic and regional vocational training research as well as pre-vocational training. The research area also includes the subject of initial professional education with focus on teaching/learning process as well as commercial education.
The second research area is particularly concerned with interculturality and vocational education, research-based learning in practical semesters as well as history and theory of vocational education. Furthermore, another focus lies on business didactics in regard to new concepts of theory and practice in economic subjects as well as on the theory of education plans of economic education.
