The Concert Band is Hohenheim's symphonic brass orchestra and one of the few symphonic university orchestras in Germany.
The orchestra now consists of around 80 musicians. Several times a year, to prepare for concerts or concert trips, the orchestra organizes practice weekends at the University of Hohenheim and off-campus.
The aim of the Concert Band is to introduce the diversity of symphonic brass music to a wider audience. Their repertoire concentrates on original compositions for brass orchestras from all eras. Transcripts of classical works, as well as arrangements from popular music, round off the wide and varied program.
The orchestra has competed in a number of brass band contests and performed on a number of concert trips, all of which have shown that audiences outside of Hohenheim are also enthusiastic about this music.
