Founded in the 1986 summer semester, the University of Hohenheim Symphony Orchestra currently has around 40 members, including students, alumni, and University staff. Since its earliest beginnings, the quality and repertoire of the orchestra has grown with the number of its members: its repertoire ranges from Bach and Handel, via Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven to Strauss, Stravinsky, and Hindemith.
Under the direction of Klaus Breuninger, who has been in charge of the orchestra since the summer semester of 1994, the orchestra is now concentrating much more on the Romantic and Modern genres. Mr. Breuniger has also organized a number of collaborations with other ensembles conducted by him. New musicians are always welcome!
