The language certificate for applicants from Germany for a DAAD scholarship abroad is a proof of the foreign language level and is available both for English and for many other foreign languages. The DAAD has developed this language certificate as proof of foreign language skills when applying for a DAAD scholarship. Now, however, many institutions also accept it in applications for proof of foreign language skills. As a rule, the Language Center of the University of Hohenheim issues the DAAD language certificate only for DAAD scholarship programs (e.g. DAAD one-year scholarships, PROMOS scholarship, RISE, GoEast, Carlo Schmid, etc.) after a completed language test.
For mobility programs, the language test for the DAAD language certificate is currently offered at the University of Hohenheim only in exceptional cases** for Spanish, French, and possibly other languages, BUT NOT FOR ENGLISH.
New dates will be announced at the beginning of the lecture period. Language tests for scholarship applications for English, French, and Spanish take place once a month during the lecture period. For other languages, appointments may be made on request, please contact the lecturers. The language tests consist of a written and an oral part.
The language test usually takes place in the Language Center’s Mediothek. A fee of € 20 will be charged per test (see fee regulations).
Please download the language certificate form (on the right) before the appointment, print it out double-sided and fill it out. You must also bring the printed confirmation of registration with you.
Registrations for language test appointments are made online. Please note the booking and participation conditions.
