Abstract

Two novel B-seco-tetranortriterpenoids, 23-(R,S)-hydroxytoonacilid (I; m.p. 163-4.degree., [.alpha.]D = +66.7.degree. CHCl3) and 21-(R,S)-hydroxytoonacilid (II; m.p. 188-9.degree., [.alpha.]20D=+37.0.degree.), were isolated from bark of T. ciliata in addn. to toonacilin and 6-acetoxytoonacilin. Extensive 1H-NMR data are presented.
