Abstract

A bioassay is described for detecting naturally occurring compds. with nematicidal properties against Meloidogyne incognita is, used as the test organism. In order to avoid phytotoxic effects the exts. are sepd. from the roots without hindering the movement of the nematodes. The bioassay was checked with Nemacur as a std. nematicide, and with naphthoquinone and 5-hydroxynaphthoquinone which both show high phytotoxic properties at 100 ppm. The bioassay showed that only 5-hydroxynaphthoquinone had a nematicidal effect on M. incognita.
