Abstract

A symposium report on the use of LC-NMR as a tool for natural products elucidation as exemplified by the characterization of triterpenes I (R1 = H, R2 = OH, R3 = Me, R4 = CH2OH; R1 = H, R2 = OH, R3 = CH2OH, R4 = Me; R1 = OH, R2 = H, R3 = Me, R4 = CH2OH; R1 = H, R2 = OH, R3 = Me, R4 = CH2O-gallyloyl) from Terminalia macroptera and sesquiterpene lactones, e.g. II (X = bond, squiggle line = .alpha. or .beta.; X = O, squiggle line = .alpha.) and derivs., from Vernonia fastigiata.
