The University of Hohenheim respects the health of all members of the university as a good worthy of particular protection. It therefore deeply regrets the fact that members of the university may have come into contact with harmful substances at the place of study or work.
For this reason, it offers all those possibly affected the opportunity to have a possible PCB contamination determined by a blood test. For evaluation purposes, the University is also happy to arrange contacts with environmental physicians to discuss the results.
Please pass the word: Offer also for alumni
The offer for a blood test also applies to former university members who studied or worked in the affected rooms.
Unfortunately, the university is dependent on help here: In accordance with data protection regulations, all data of employees who left before 2014 had to be deleted from the Human Resources’ system. Please also pass on the relevant information to people you know who worked in the buildings in question.
Free blood test with university doctor or general practitioner
As a (former) university member, the company doctor is available to you for a free examination.
Alternatively, you can visit your family doctor or another specialist. In this case, the University of Hohenheim will bear the costs. For this you can receive a confirmation of payment in advance.
Depending on the findings, the University of Hohenheim will also arrange further consultations with an environmental physician.
Important:
Before going to see a doctor, it is essential that you coordinate the necessary details with the Occupational Safety Department. These discussions take place confidentially within the framework of the department's duty of confidentiality.
