Large research equipment and infrastructure funding
As part of the "Large-scale research equipment" funding program, the DFG provides funding for large-scale research equipment.

The DFG funds proposals that are 50% co-financed with the respective federal state.
State universities and non-state, institutionally accredited universities are eligible to apply.
Investment projects for university research must be characterized by outstanding scientific quality and national significance.
The equipment must be used predominantly for research, i.e. the need for its procurement and use must be justified solely by its use in research.
The investment sum must be over €200,000 for universities. The upper limit is €7.5 million.
For the required assurance of 50% co-financing by the state or the university, the lead scientist as the responsible contact person must submit an appropriate application form including the supplementary sheets.

Large equipment applications may be submitted at any time .
Please contact the Research Support Department and UHOH Central Purchasing Unit early in the process. They will assist you with the necessary coordination within the university and with the state.
