Abroad

Especially if you go abroad through one of the University of Hohenheim’s exchange programs, there are some things to keep in mind during your stay abroad.

Documents during your stay abroad

In particular in the Erasmus+ program, you will need several documents during your stay abroad. Students in the Erasmus+ program receive information through Mobility Online. Please therefore always keep an eye on your Mobility Online workflow.

Ability to be reached from abroad

Of course you can contact us by email when you are abroad. Our office hours are sometimes also offered virtually, so if you need to then you can participate in them regularly. Please keep in mind any time difference.

Problems when you’re abroad

Not everything will always go as planned when you’re abroad. We don’t leave you to fend for yourself!

Content problems in the mobility or scholarship program

Get in touch with the contact persons responsible for the topic. On our team page you can see the focus of our advising.

Personal problems

Depending on your problem, we advise you to seek help. Partner universities also offer assistance to guest or exchange students. If you take part in the “buddy program” at the beginning, then sometimes your buddy can help.
Of course you are also welcome to get in touch with the responsible person from the Student Mobility Team. We will discuss your problem with you and try to find solutions.

Catastrophes (e.g., natural disasters, pandemic, terrorist attacks)

If you are directly or indirectly affected by a catastrophe, please immediately contact outgoing@ua.uni-hohenheim.de.
If there is a catastrophe, then we will try to get in touch with students in the exchange programs as quickly as possible.

Especially if you are doing an overseas stay abroad, we recommend that you register with the crisis list of the German Foreign Office at the latest when you arrive in the host country. This will allow the Foreign Office to keep you informed if there is a crisis or catastrophe.
