Subject and purpose of the processing
We process your personal data for the following purposes: A chatbot answers questions from prospective students. Following the campaign, the questions will also be used in anonymous form to improve the quality of the chatbot and conduct further research.
The use of the chatbot and the necessary disclosure of your personal data to use the chatbot is voluntary. If you do not use this service, you will not be at a disadvantage. All information that the chatbot can offer you can also be found on our university's website.
The following personal data is collected when the chatbot is used: IP address, browser and operating system information, and your questions to the chatbot.

Disclosure of personal data and place of processing
To provide the function, we intend to transfer your personal data to the following third countries or to the following international organizations: Your IP addresses, the signature of your browser and your operating system together with your questions are transmitted to AWS, Chatbase, and OpenAI in the USA to process the requests. For Chatbase and OpenAI, this data is pseudonymized. They only indirectly allow conclusions to be drawn about your person. The assignment of the data to your person by these recipients outside the EU is therefore possible in principle, but also involves a certain amount of effort.
AWS participates in the Data Privacy Framework. Chatbase and OpenAI, however, do not.
Storage duration
We cannot make any statements about the storage period for AWS, Chatbase, or OpenAI.
We do not store your IP address or other identification markers in connection with your questions. This means that your inquiries are always anonymous to us. Logs that contain personal metadata such as your IP address are regularly deleted or anonymized in Hohenheim after two weeks at the latest. The entries and chat histories of all users are also processed in anonymous form for research purposes..
Right of revocation, right of access to information, right of rectification, and right to lodge a complaint
