Education for Business and Economics (B.Sc.)

In the Bachelor's degree program Education for Business and Economics, all students must complete an internship of at least 9 weeks.

Completed vocational training in the commercial or administration sector can be recognized as an internship.

Please note the new internship regulations valid as of 01 September 2024:

Students who have not submitted the proof of the module “Practical School Training” (4 weeks / 8 credits) to the Examinations Office by 31 August 2024 will instead complete the new modules “Practical School Training” (2 weeks / 3 credits), “Workplace Learning – Introduction to Research and Practice” (3 credits), and “Practical In-Company Training” (5 weeks / 6 credits).

As soon as the new regulation is in force, the scope of the mandatory internship will therefore be 5 weeks. From this point on, working student activities of at least 5 months (with at least 10h/week) can also be recognized as an internship.

Minimum duration of the internship

  • 9 weeks
  • The internship can be done in a maximum of 2 different stages.
1 of these stages must be at least 4 weeks long.
  • The internship must be done on a full-time basis.

Where should the internship be done?

The internship can be done in one of the following fields:

  • Employers who are legally entitled to providing vocational training for professions in the field of business and administration.
  • Employers who are legally entitled to train assistants for jobs in finance and tax consulting.
  • Public administration offices which are able to train administrative office staff.

The company must provide traineeships in one of the above-mentioned job areas.
Internships in other job fields must be approved beforehand by the Internship Office.
