Highlights
Hohenheim Cultural Festival: For the University of Hohenheim’s 200th anniversary, the Kulturgruppe Hohenheim is organizing the first Hohenheim Cultural Festival during the Festive Week.
Guests include:
Buttering Trio
consists of KerenDun, Rejoicer and Beno Hendler.
This particular Berlin/Tel Aviv connection crafts densely layered and sophisticated nu soul not a million miles away from Quadron, Georgia Anne Muldrow or Little Dragon. At the same time, these aural treats are not for the faint of heart: KerenDun, Rejoicer (a. o. producer of Bajka) and bassist Beno Hendler (Balkan Beat Box) love to lace their sound with sharp synth bass, progressive chords and off-kilter, yet never off-key, beats and vox for a challenging sonic journey inspired by the grandmaster of all things “out there,” Frank Zappa. So, listen closely … or you might miss some of the tricky snippets thrown into the mix!

Kleiner Vetter Report
The band “Weather Report” is among the most important groups that shaped the sounds of the 70s and 80s. In “Kleiner Vetter Report”, Clara Vetter and Frieder Klein put together a groove-loving collection in a tribute evening. It’s not that the young musicians love retro sounds - they’re just in search of energetic music. Weather Report tread a new path with an exciting mix of rock, funk, Latin, and jazz, creating a musical energy that the Fusion Jazz Reporter wants to show in this concert. The prediction: Clear tones and thundering beats.
Lukas Pfeil (ts, ewi), Clara Vetter (p, synth), Frieder Klein (b), Michael Mischl (drums)
