Stay on top of things!

  • Which modules do you still need to complete? When will those modules be offered? Curriculum
  • Look out for modules that are successive: Module catalog
  • Assistance in planning your modules: Academic program advising (FSB)
  • Make use of both examination periods: When registering for the first time for an exam: You can choose whether you will register for the first or second examination period.
Advantage: You can concentrate on only two or three exams per examination period and have more time to study for the individual exams.
Please note: Missing the exam (e.g. due to illness) or failing the exam in the second examination period means that you will not be able to take the exam again until around 9 months later.
  • If modules from the winter and summer semester are combined, then courses could overlap.

Watch out for deadlines!

  • Preliminary examination: A certain number of modules from the first few semesters must be passed by the end of the third subject-related semester. Examination regulations
  • Bachelor’s examination: All necessary modules (totaling 180 ECTS credits) must be passed by the end of the ninth subject-related semester.
  • Extending the deadline: Under certain circumstances, it is possible to request an extension if you cannot meet the deadlines for the preliminary or Bachelor’s examinations. Contact the Central Student Counselling Center well in advance.
  • Re-taking exams: Examination regulations
