Request for disadvantage compensation (to improve the grade of the university entrance qualification)
... for applicants who were prevented by circumstances beyond their control from obtaining a better result in their university entrance qualification.
If such circumstances and their effects are proven and the application for compensation for disadvantages is approved, the application will be entered into the award procedure with an improved average mark/score.
Proof of the circumstances that led to poor performance (e.g. a months-long hospital stay) is not in itself sufficient to justify the application. An expert opinion by the school (not the teachers) must prove that, taking into account the long-term overall development of performance over the years, it is determined for each subject under consideration which better grade or higher score could have been expected without the circumstances that occurred. The resulting better average grade or higher overall score for the university entrance qualification must be stated in the report.
Within the scope of the online application for Bachelor’s programs with restricted admissions, an application for compensation for disadvantages can be made and the required evidence can be uploaded. You do not need to send any paper documents to the University of Hohenheim.
