Cemetery

The small, idyllic cemetery was established in the early 1850s. In the upper, northern part there are six war graves from 1945 and - at the hedge to the west - a grove of honor. In 2018, the University of Hohenheim created a memorial in the southern entrance area to commemorate the suffering that also occurred in Hohenheim during the Nazi era.

Place of remembrance for suffering and injustice

In 2018, the University of Hohenheim created a place of remembrance for suffering and injustice during the Nazi era that also occurred in Hohenheim. Over 240 forced laborers were taken to Hohenheim after the beginning of World War 2. Two of them died here in 1945 and were buried in the cemetery. A sculpture with a commemorative plaque - works by the sculptor Markus Wolf - now commemorates their fate, and the previously nameless, unrecognizable graves were given memorial stones.
