As part of the process of coming to terms with the Nazi era at the University of Hohenheim, significant connections with the Nazi regime were found in the biography of Dr. h. c. Wilhelm Lampeter.
Wilhelm Lampeter was involved in the preparations for the resettlement of the Gottscheer to the German Reich and the associated forcible expulsion of the Slovenes living there during his studies in Hohenheim from 1936 to 1939. In 1941 he was appointed as an SS-Sturmbannführer. in 1942 he took part in the Russian campaign as a member of the Waffen-SS.
Based on today’s knowledge and a current assessment, Dr. h. c. Wilhelm Lampeter would no longer be honored.
