Erasmus+ mobility grant for practical stays abroad (KA 131)

The Erasmus+ program is the European Union’s program for education, training, youth and sport. Various mobility measures in the higher education sector are funded under the umbrella of the EU education program, including student mobility for practical stays abroad (KA 131, SMP).

The grant is intended to (partially) finance additional costs incurred abroad. KOOR – Erasmus Services BW is responsible for administration of the Erasmus+ mobility grant for practical stays abroad for recipients at the University of Hohenheim.

What is funded? The Erasmus+ mobility grant for practical stays abroad supports self-organized internships, research internships or the practical part of final theses in Erasmus+ program countries or worldwide.
Who is eligible? The rules specified by KOOR – Erasmus Services BW apply.
What does the mobility grant consist of?

The support consists of country-dependent monthly grant payments and possible additional funding. The respective Erasmus+ project determines the amount of the country-specific monthly grant payments and the additional funding. Please note that the project year is not necessarily the same as the year of your stay abroad. You will be informed of the Erasmus+ project from which you will receive funding when your mobility grant is approved.

Application procedure Students at the University of Hohenheim follow the application procedure of KOOR – Erasmus Services BW.
Application documents

The application document requirements are as specified by KOOR – Erasmus Services BW.

The application form must be signed by the Erasmus+ university coordinator. Therefore, please send the application form together with your current certificate of enrollment and the Learning Agreement (for Bachelor’s students signed by Mr. Krieger; for Master’s students signed by their department coordinator or thesis supervisor in Hohenheim) to outgoing@ua.uni-hohenheim.de.
Application deadlines The complete application documents for the Erasmus+ mobility grant for practical stays abroad must be submitted to KOOR – Erasmus Services BW at least two weeks before the internship starts.
Selection and award criteria The Erasmus+ mobility grant for practical stays abroad is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
Responsibilities as a recipient
  • Fulfilling the respective program requirements (e.g. timely submission of all documents required by the program)
  • Act as an ambassador for the University of Hohenheim at the host institution as well as for the respective partner university and the exchange program at the University of Hohenheim
  • Compliance with grant agreements
Other
  • There is only a limited budget for the Erasmus+ mobility grant for practical stays abroad worldwide. Therefore it is possible that applications may not be possible at certain times.
  • Financial support can only be granted if there is no travel warning in place for the host country or region concerned, issued by the Federal Foreign Office.
  • Parallel funding from other EU funds is not permitted.
  • It is possible to receive International BAföG as well as Erasmus+ funding. However, the relevant BAföG office must be notified of the Erasmus+ grant and this may lead to an adjustment of the BAföG rates.
