What do I have to do?
- All students new to Hohenheim must do a German placement or C-test in the Mediothek or online - even if you have other language certificates. The test is under 30 minutes and free; no appointment is necessary.
Test result unexpected? If your score is too high or low for your level or chosen course, we may review it with a writing task in our consultation sessions (see 3.). If you scored 10 Points or more too high, please do another placement test in the Mediothek, 1st floor Euroforum before the consultation.
During test: Do not use any tools, such as dictionaries; otherwise your result will not reflect your true ability and you may struggle in your course.
Preparation for test: consult our homepage for a mock exam and familiarise yourself with the test format at the following link:
https://www.uni-hohenheim.de/en/language-center-language-tests-c-test-test
No German – no placement test: If you have never learned German or know very little, simply register online for A1.1. No test is necessary
