Abstract

Reaction of C-2 substituted cyclohexenone with an enantiomerically pure a-bromopentenoate leads to enantiopure tricyclooctane, which can be transformed into a taxoid like compd. having the typical bicyclo[5.3.1]undecane skeleton.
