Time off for educational purposes for employees in Baden-Württemberg

Interested employees in Baden-Württemberg can take part in the University of Hohenheim’s internal continuing education program while taking time off for educational purposes. more

Learning languages

At the University’s own Language Center, students and staff can choose from a selection of 11 languages.

As a special service, the directors of the various language areas offer personal advising in order find and register for the appropriate course.

Cost reimbursement for language courses:
  • Non-scientific personnel: For regular participation, the Human Resources Department reimburses the costs. Please send an informal request with a copy of the certificate of participation and your bank account information to Ellen Olpp.
  • Scientific personnel: Please make individual arrangements with your institute or institution.

Stays abroad

As a measure of the internationalization of the University of Hohenheim, members of staff have the possibility to attend continuing and further education courses at a university or a company in another country. All staff members of the central units, institutions, and faculties are eligible for funding. Additional information

Training for University employees in the professional use of HIS software.

The Leadership Academy charges a € 20 processing fee for seminars that are also offered by the Academy of Administration and Business Administration!

  • Introductory qualification for the higher service in the state administration

Training opportunities for civil servants in the state of Baden-Württemberg:
Newly recruited civil servants in the higher civil service with permanent contracts learn the basics and change processes of the administration in the introductory training for civil servants in the state of Baden-Württemberg. They also deepen their knowledge in the areas of self-management, meetings, and leadership skills. The individual topics are modular and can be taken in any order. Typically, the Personnel Development Unit will write directly to the target group, but you are also welcome to write if you are interested: irena.rathgeb@verwaltung.uni-hohenheim.de. Registration takes place once a year via Ms. Rathgeb.

Registration and payment for seminars are handled centrally by the Human Resources Department.

With the establishment of an academic human resource development and career promotion plan, the University of Hohenheim offers researchers a program specifically directed at them for their professional development. more

The Office for University Didactics supports lecturers who want to further develop their teaching competencies and shape the conditions in the area of teaching and learning such that their own teaching competencies can be fully used. more

As part of the Erasmus+ program, visiting lecturers at Erasmus+ partner universities are supported as well. German universities also have the possibility to receive funding for teaching measures from members of foreign companies. more
