Historical guided tours through the Hohenheim Palace, botanical tours through the Hohenheim Gardens as well as guided museum visits offer new insights and exciting background information.

Public historical tours

 

Free historical tours in the Palace and Gardens take place on the University’s Open Day at the beginning of July.

Historical tours by arrangement

 

Historical tours for groups in German and English can be arranged. The authorized guides will answer questions about dates directly (see below). Tours cost €60 for each hour or part of an hour. Tours with external companies are possible under certain conditions.

Horticultural-botanical tours are offered by authorized guides from the Hohenheim Gardens.

Historical tours in the Palace

 

Dates: Tours in the Palace are possible all day on weekends and starting at 5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Tours can only take place if the Palace rooms are not occupied by other events.
Length: 1.5 - 2 hours
Costs: €60 / hour

The annual program of the Hohenheim Gardens includes public tours all year long.

Furthermore, free horticultural-botanical tours take place on the University’s Open Day at the beginning of July.

Private tours

Tours for groups in German and English with prior arrangement with the contact persons listed below.
Length: approx. 1.5 to 2 hours
Cost: €60 / hour
Content: Brief historical overview of the establishment of the Landesarboretum or Botanical Garden and extensive insights into the general and seasonal highlights of the gardens.

The German Agricultural Museum offers regular special exhibits, public tours, and exhibitions. You can find information on the dates in the annual program.

Tours by agreement

Tours for groups or school classes by agreement.

Date: Tours are also possible outside of opening hours
Length: 1-1.5 hours
Cost: up to 35 people €40 / hr (not including entry fees); school classes €2 / student (including entry fee), at least €35
Content: You can choose a general tour through agricultural history, topic-focused tours, or special tours through the technological section.

Tours on campus by external companies

Tours on the University campus by external companies are possible under the following conditions:

Tours by guides authorized by the University:
If the tour guides authorized by the University are used, then they will receive €60 for each hour or part of an hour by the organizer.

Tours by external guides:
Only tours in the Gardens and on the University of Hohenheim campus are possible with external guides; no tours of the Palace are permitted. External companies must conclude a contract with the University regarding each tour carried out by an external guide that regulates pay and liability. The remuneration for the guide is 10% of the fee received by the organizer. You can contact the following persons about the contract:
